Weʼve raised £170 to Fund for a gravestone for our beloved brother Dion!

Funded on Tuesday, 3rd April 2018

    What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

The reason for setting up this fundraising page is that we are wanting to raise money for a headstone for our beloved brother Dion, who sadly passed away 16 months ago, but unfortunately don't have the funds to provide our brother with what he deserves best, due to financial issues. To which is causing a lot of distress within the family.

Here's an insight to how strong and wonderful our soldier was for the short 21 years of his life.

Dion was born with down syndrome and a heart defect, but from the age of 6 things started to go down hill, as Dion had developed a rare form of disease to which attacked his kidneys and they failed drastically. This then resulted in him developing kidney failure and there was no cure due to the disease being so rare. During his heart wrenching journey he had 16 central lines 4 fester's and countless blood transfusions over the 15 years. Then he practically lived in hospital travelling back and forth 3 times a week for 15 years of his life. The long term effect from being on dialysis and medication, he had then developed bone disease. aside all this Dion was taken into intensive care 4 times, however died 3 times during that but he fort back each time like the strong soldier he was and came back to us. During Dion's final months before his passing he had to stay in hospital and was admitted to being on high volume oxygen 24/7. His body was failing from all the trauma he had undergone throughout the 15 years on dialysis and the impact his body undergone and our little soldier couldn't fight no more and left us to go to a peaceful pain free place heaven on August 18th 2016. During everything Dion was going through, he had a consistent smile on his face and insured to make everyone laugh and smile.

Dion had also participated in many charity events such as Ty Hafan and Kidney Wales.

It would be much appreciated if you could make a donation please, it would mean the world to us, so we can give our brother what he deserves.

I saw this very touching and lovely story in my local paper and wanted to help Jodie and her family to get a headstone for Dion. Sending you all my love and wishing you well in your appeal.
