Jodie Harper has encountered hardship and troubles throughout her life from losing her parents at a young age , going into care until 17.
At 24 Jodie became pregnant ,her dream of wanting a child of her own was finally going to be a reality, she adored children and children adored her.
Early in the pregnancy she suffered an ectopic and had to have one of her tubes removed. Jodie and myself were devastated.
later that year jodie was diagnosed with Leukaemia- Acute lymphoblastic leukaemia. She started a 3 year UKALL14 trial . Through the treatment jodie lost her hair and became most of the time bed bound through the treatment. When the treatment came to near the end ,jodie had a Bone Marrow to confirm the leukaemia had completely gone.
We had the results and they confirmed that the Leukaemia had come back. DEVASTATED was an understatement , 3 years of intense treatment and yet it had still come back.
It was now a matter of what to do next treatment wise. A Stem Cell Transport was inevitable this time which would make her incertile due to the radiation.
Jodie is currently on blinatumomab for 28 days 2 week break and another bone marrow. Jodie s priority at the moment is to have her eggs frozen before any kind of Stem Cell treatment.
