    Story

On Tuesday 27th Nov at 5:06pm baby Jaxon Tommy Clarke arrived to brighten up our world. He took his time though, his mums waters broke the previous night around 9 o'clock she was in labour for hours, we all sat on tenter hooks awaiting news. Baby Jaxon was back to back and didn't want to come out, towards the end they got mum and dad ready for theatre incase of an emergency C section but luckily he gave in with a little help from the forceps. So finally we had some good news a baby to love and cherish. Then came the complications. After mum and dad noticed his breathing was abnormal staff at Scarborough hospital did a scan and picked up that he had a problem with his heart but at 5 days old they said he was fit enough to go home. Everyone was over the moon we just had to wait for an appointment in Leeds for a heart specialist to scan his heart again to find out the severity of his heart problem. After two very short days at home his mum & dad noticed his breathing was getting worse again and it became erratic so they took him back to Scarborough hospital, he was admitted & the next day he was transferred to Leeds general infirmary. Once at Leeds they carried out a more detailed scan this showed us the true extent of little Jaxons heart problems. After a heartbreaking Conversation with Jaxons consultant and one of his surgeons, we soon came to realise there is no label for jaxons heart condition because it’s so rare for the three major issues to all be seen together on one heart. Everyone here is astounded by the fact Jaxon survived as long as he did at home undiagnosed. His body was using more energy to survive than what it was creating. A emergency meeting will be held today (10-12-18) by 30 + staff members to discuss the best course of action & after all the results of the treatment he has been having is looked over a survival rate and any risks will be given to mum & dad and they will have to make the decision to go ahead or not. If they choose not to go ahead it brakes my heart to say little Jaxon will only grace us with his presence for a few more weeks. If they choose to go ahead this will consist of a 12 hour plus operation, in which they will stop baby Jaxons heart and put him on a heart and lung bypass. The operation will be conducted by some of the UKs best heart specialists.

Jaxons life is not going to be easy with constant hospital stays and a lifetime on medicine. If they choose to go ahead it will be open heart surgery, if he makes it through this he will then have a further two open hearts to endure, one at 6months old and the last at 3-5 years old. We are all hoping and praying for him to make it through. We are a close family from Scarborough & both sides are pulling together to do what we can. When times like this arrise so do the expenses, any help at all how ever small will be gratefully received. Jaxons mum only has her maternity pay as income and Jaxons dad hasn't been able to work and won't be for the foreseeable future. The bills at home still need to be paid and just the food costs alone are adding up. Also this will help the rest of the family, grandma, Nannie, aunties and uncles, & cousins to visit & support them. Huge thankyou to those that have already helped with travel costs and a night stay in a hotel for Nannie so she can be there at a crucial time, it means so much to us. If you find you can't donate then I will simply ask you to pray, pray with all you have for our baby Jaxon
