I'm Joe and I'm 15 years old. I have been offered an amazing opportunity to embark on a life changing expedition in the summer of 2018.
The expedition is four weeks in Kenya working with local communities on transformational projects including:

Education – helping generations of children and babies by building a new school classroom or kindergarten.

Housing – Constructing vitally needed community housing from local materials for some of the most impoverished families.

Healthcare & sanitation – Improving the health of a whole community through installing and improving local amenities.

Food & water security – Installing new water facilities to provide fresh drinking water to local communities.

Environmental protection – Digging animal watering holes, deworm livestock and help rangers protect vulnerable wildlife from poachers.

Sustainable livelihoods – Making elephant poo paper and flip-flop key-rings which local people can sell and support micro-enterprise.

Having the opportunity to be involved in such projects and making a difference to so many lives would be an honour and a privilege and something that I would remember forever. It would also enable me to overcome challenges and learn new skills and experience aspects of life that I wouldn’t otherwise be exposed to.

I'm currently doing numerous activies to raise funds including offering a glass bin emptying service locally, doing a paper round and my mum is taking on the challenge of completing a full iron distance triathlon in June.
