I've raised £10000 to fund current research into Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome (SADS) in memory of John Jefferson Nesbitt.

Our fundraising is for John Jefferson Nesbitt, who unexpectedly at 18 years of age tragically died in his sleep. He didn’t wake up on 30.08.2018. John’s heart stopped beating as a result of an arrhythmia, caused by myocarditis.
We are raising funds for the Liverpool Heart & Chest Hospital Inherited Cardiac Conditions & Heart Muscle Disease Service which is undertaking research into early identification of markers of risk in the sudden arrythmic death syndrome (SADS)'.
The team is currently setting up research into using 24 hour -12 lead ECG Holter monitors to try and identify patients at risk of Brugada Syndrome and one of the long QT syndromes (Long QT3). We are also looking into using the same equipment to identify a tendency for arrhythmia in patients with arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathy, one of the heart muscle diseases.
Monies raised will help to fund more 12 lead - 24 hour Holter Monitors and fund the on-going costs of running the research and servicing the ECG analysis equipment at the minute.
The Cardiac team at the Liverpool Heart & Chest Hospital have really helped us to understand Johns death and this research is paramount in helping to prevent tragic young deaths for other families.
John lived in the moment and enjoyed every day. He had a contagious smile and the ability to brighten everyone’s life. This is for John.
Thank you so much for all of your generous donations and helping to prevent others from these tragic events.
