I am running the Newport marathon in South Wales on Sunday April 29th. I am asking for sponsorship to support a trip that my daughter Esme is taking to India.

In July 2019 Esme, 16, is going to India on a 19-day expedition with Malmesbury school. This is to learn about Indian society, people, religion and politics.

Esme will visit monasteries and temples and trek in the Himalayas. Highlights include a visit to a village for Tibetan refugees, spending time at a primary school, and meeting Dolls4Tibet, a Fairtrade business that provides jobs and empowerment for women. Esme will also spend time with a charity called Tong Len to learn how it is improving health and education in slums.

The trip is organised by Global Action; http://www.global-action.co.uk/. To go on the trip Esme needs to raise £3390.
