Story
Many thanks for all your help so far.... you have touched hearts on the other side of the world with your willingness to help.
Part of your generous donations are being used to provide food and sleeping mats direct to the most needy families.
In a busy town in one of the world's poorest countries, hundreds of families are struggling after the worst flooding in decades.
Juticalpa, Honduras, is Celia's home town. We have many friends and family there. Fr. Jenry (who many of you met earlier this year) has family in this area, including his elderly mother.
Families who already live in extreme poverty have lost their homes and possessions. Many have young babies. There are no social services to take care of people like we are used to in Europe or the USA.
The local Fire Service has set up a temporary shelter, but food, clothing and medicine are needed.
The orphanage of Santa Maria de Los Angeles is affected. Thankfully, all the children are safe, but it is a struggle to put food on the table. Local food donations are down this week because everyone is needing to take care of their own families.
£1,000 can go a long way in Honduras. Any contribution, no matter what amount, will be valuable. You can be assured it will go direct to those in need and you will see how it is used.
In a town where many survive on around £3 a day, anything you can give will make a difference. Please help if you can.
Thank you very much.

7 years agoThank you so very much for your continued support! You are enabling many families to be helped..... and to know that their wellbeing is important to people in another country who have never even met them! Here is a photo of one of the families receiving sleeping mats. This family lives close to the river - the area that was worst hit by the floods.
