Story
My name is Samwel Orenda. I am 24 years old and I am from a very small village called Kager village in the Nyanza region of Kenya in Africa.. As one of the young men in our community, I am a dedicated farmer in our village and a hardworking man. My farm project name is called Kasiro Intergrated Organic. My farm is only 324 feet but I grow different types of crops like vegetables, tomatoes, bananas, spinach, peas and local vegetables. During the harvest period, I help people in our village who need food, for example the local day care orphanage and the elderly widows in our village. In our region rain is unpredictable. In order to get water for farming is very difficult and I must wake up every day at 5am in the morning to walk 5 kilometers both ways to get water to water my crops. Right now I have planted crops and they are doing well since I have maintained them by watering them everyday. However, because my farm is in an open field, I have a big problem with animals like cows, goats, sheep and hens that gets into my farm and destroys the crops and the food we need to eat. Because of this, I am asking for your assistance to help me obtain the funds necessary to build a fence to protect our farm so we can keep growing good, healthy, organic food for our village. I humbly ask for your assistance and support for our farm. Any contribution I will greatly appreciated and it will be of a greater help to this wonderful project that is changing many lives in our community.
