I'm raising £750 to represent Scotland at the Iceland International Scouting Jamboree

Story

Hi, my name is Josh, I’m 14 years old and I am proud to have been selected to represent Scotland at an International Scouting Jamboree in Iceland in July 2026.

Over 100 Scouts attended the selection day and just over 30 were chosen, so being selected is a huge honour. I am especially proud to be the first Explorer Scout from North Berwick ever chosen for an international jamboree. I hope I’ll be the first of many, as there are younger Scouts in North Berwick who are already inspired to follow the same path.

I’ve been part of the North Berwick Scout Group since I was 6 years old. Scouting has given me so much — confidence, friendships, skills and a sense of adventure that will last me a life time. I want to give something back which is why I am fundraising not only for the jamboree, but also for North Berwick Scouting, so that other young people can benefit the way I have.

So far, I’ve raised £300 from my paper round tips and my own savings. In May 2026, I’ll be taking on the Ben Nevis Challenge, where my family, friends and I will be climbing Ben Nevis together to raise further funds and push ourselves outside our comfort zones.

Thank you so much for supporting me, my Scout group, and for helping me represent Scotland and North Berwick on an international stage.
