Weʼve raised £4,600 to the Giles Trust, which helps fund research and nurses for brain tumour patients

Funded on Wednesday, 2nd December 2020

    Story

RURFC’s charity heading into the new academic year is the Giles Trust. A foundation that works with brain tumour patients and their families to provide essential support in a multitude of areas, including: research, nursing, support etc. The work they do is underfunded compared to other cancer based charities, so now is our time to shine a light on the work they do, raise some vital funds, and have some fun along the way

Our first fund raising challenge of the year is the 3 peaks challenge. scaling the 3 largest peaks in England (Scaffell’s pike), Scotland (Ben Nevis), and Wales (Snowdon) in 24 hours.

4 very attractive, very smart RURFC members will be attempting this mammoth task over the weekend of the 4-5th of September and are attempting to raise £1000. A chance to blow out the lockdown cobwebs, and probably physically write ourselves off for 6 weeks

      Update from the Page owner

Hi guys, just wanted to say we are closing the fundraising here, and sending off the money to the GIles Trust. Thank you so much for all your support and efforts to raise money. It really kept us going on the mountains. All money and awareness is so vital for the Giles Trust, and we are so glad we can help. Thanks again. Josh, Lewis, Jack, Alfie & George

Just a quick word: We’ve decided to move the event to the 7/8th of September as we believe it will be less road and people traffic on the mountains. Thank you so much for the continued support and the constant sharing. The £2000 target is just another milestone. We want to raise as much as possible so please send to anyone you know who would be able to help, or just share our story if you can. Thanks again, it means so much to us, the charity, and those affected by such a cruel disease. And We Build.
