Story
Over the Easter holidays my friend Theo and I are going on a 4-day trek of 58 miles along the Exmoor Coast to raise funds for a short-term mission trip this summer.
The mission trip is organised by Youth With A Mission (YWAM) and consists of a training camp, a ten day outreach trip to Serbia or Moldova (depending on where we are assigned to) and ends with a reflection weekend back in the UK. The trip runs from 5th – 22nd of July and is an amazing chance to grow in our relationships with God alongside opportunities to share the gospel and serve in practical ways in a new cultural setting.
As an outreach team, we will work alongside experienced missionaries to explore ways of serving other people. Outreach ranges from helping to run summer camps for children to spending time praying, worshipping and sharing testimonies with the local church. This is a chance for us to stretch ourselves, to step out of our comfort zones and to dive into the exciting work of sharing God’s love.
The two-and-a-half week trip costs £400 each, with the additional cost of flights (approx. £200). In total we aim to raise £1,200 for the two of us to go on the trip together. If you would like to know more about what the mission trip to Serbia involves, please see this attached link:

To fundraise for this trip, we’ve planned a 4-day trek along the Exmoor Coast. It is a total of 58 miles with over 9,000 ft of climbing. Quite a challenge!
Our walk begins at Croyde bay, near Barnstaple. The first day is a 10-mile hike to Lee Bay, where we will set up camp for our first night. Day two will be a gruelling 18 miles to Martin Hoe, followed by another 17.5 miles to Bossington. We finish the trek by waking along the Minehead sea front following the Coastal path down to our finish in Watchet.
We’re looking for people to sponsor us per mile of this walk. Would you be willing to support us in this cause? Any money raised will be going to YWAM mission trip only.
Thanks for considering,
Josiah Wang & Theo Roberts

6 years agoWow. We had an amazing walk - some wonderful views, sore & blistered feet, and a bit of rain here and there. In total we covered 65 miles of walking over 3.5 days. God provided places for us to camp every night including a miraculous answer to prayer on the second night. It has been so good to experience God's provision and see Him at work. Thanks so much to everyone who has so kindly offered to sponsor us; it really helped us keep going through the pain. Here is a picture from the last day of our walk.
