Mark and I are heading out to Rio in a couple of weeks time and while we are there we are going to be volunteering and taking out much needed school supplies to Project Favela. This weekend part of the roof caved in on their school so they will also need funds to help repair this and keep the project going.

Here is a little bit about the project:
Project Favela is a Non-Profit Organisation school in the Rocinha area of Rio. It provides free education to both preschool-12 and adults. Education is crucial to breaking the cycle of poverty and gangs that exist in Rio.

Project Favela use international volunteers to staff and help fund their school. Their Volunteer Program is perfect for anybody looking to make a real difference in the lives of children, experience real cultural and gain some real work experience abroad and what's even better you do not need to be a teacher just be prepared to get in and help.

I hope all of our friends with/without children will support us and this worthy cause.

Every £££ will help them... so even if you can only spare a £1 or £2 we will really appreciate your kindness.

Some of the money we raise will go towards:-
£60 will buy 2 weeks worth of fresh fruit for the children who mainly live on rice and beans.

£100 will buy colouring pencils, writing pencils, felt tip pens, crayons and dry wipe markers.
