In February 2017 Gabriela Duch, Daniel Absolon and I will be running the El Cruce ultramarathon linking Argentina and Chile over 3 days and a distance of 100km.

I'm a UK immigration lawyer and through this challenge I'm raising money to help METAdrasi provide support, care, assistance and legal advice to refugees arriving in Greece. METAdrasi is a Greek NGO set up in 2010, and winner of this year's Council of Europe North-South prize.

There are currently over 57,000 refugees in Greece, over half of them women and children. A main focus of METAdrasi's work is providing a complete safety net for the protection of unaccompanied children who have been separated from or lost their parents. METAdrasi has opened safe transit accommodation facilities for unaccompanied children on Lesvos and Samos, Chios and in Athens, and a new facility is currently underway in Thessaloniki. These facilities allow unaccompanied children to be safely placed immediately upon arrival, so that they are not sent to detention centres. Each facility has a capacity for 20-25 children with a total staff of 5. The facilities run on the following targets:

-£35 to run the facility per day per child;
-£50 to clothe a child for a month;
-£130 education for a child for a month;
-£175 to feed a child for a month.
