I have been lucky enough to get the opportunity to travel to Kaponda in Malawi in November 2017 with the Betty Cunningham Trust. The expedition will support the people of the Dambo region in Malawi by providing them with healthcare and education.

The Betty Cunningham Trust has already made significant progress in the Dambo region, they have built a health clinic with a full time nurse, dug a well to provide the impoverished villagers with fresh drinking water, and have constructed 2 schools for the children of the area.

I am aiming to raise £2000 through various fundraising events. I will be running the Great Scottish 10k in October, walking 19 kilometres to Blantyre in Scotland to pay tribute to Blantyre, a city in Malawi which I will visit during my trip, and hope to host other fundraising events.

My funds will also be used to buy and supply clothes, books, sanitary and healthcare items and other essentials to the children I will be helping, they are often lacking in these bare necessities which can be bought for very cheap here.
