Good news..
The Alderton Swan will remain a pub! Kevin and Linda plan to have it open soon..
Thank you all very much for joining in and being so generous!
After 'JustGiving' had taken their fees £1,917.34 has been raised and I plan to use this money in support of the Swan.

3 years agoThank you everybody for your donations. Steps are being taken to widen our campaign by searching out all those who want to support community pubs. From conversations I have had that includes virtually the whole population of the UK!! Many are trying to save their own locals and know what we are up against. We are looking for that 0.4% of the UK population who can afford £2! Any ideas are welcome

3 years agoOur small team is really encouraged by the enthusiastic response to saving The Swan. The campaign is stepping up a gear with new recruits and a National reach. It has been reported that 2,500 pubs closed in 2020; let's act now so we don't join this statistic.

As a family we have lived in this area for over 60 years. I grew up sailing on the river Deben with my Dad, swimming in the sea at Shingle Street, and now live in Alderton.
