I will be visiting a friend in Ethiopia in February who is working with the Ministry of Education on a project aimed at developing sustainable inclusive education for children with disabilities in Ethiopian schools. The aim of the project is not to raise money from abroad but to help schools to problem solve and develop their own resources etc. over time. However access to resources to help teachers is very limited and so when I go, I would like to take a large resource pack with me that I hope to deliver in person to some of the schools and resources centres. I originally appealed for people to donate surplus stationary and or old learning resources that their children no longer needed. And lots of people have given or offered some resources. However a few people wanted to give a monetary donation and so this is why I have set up this page as a secure way for people to give the money. The aim is not to forward this more widely but just to collect the money people had wanted to donate instead of physical resources. Any money given will be used to busy some resources to take and I am hoping to also take some crutches/or pay for some crutches for two sisters who cannot get to school at the moment as they have no mobility devices. I am hoping to persuade Emirates Air to waive excess baggage fees but if not successful then any monetary donations may also be used to fund that cost. Many thanks for offering to contribute.
