    Story

My story about a truely inspirational man and the love of my life, Kevin, who loved nothing more in life than his family and friends.

A proud, honest man who worked hard all his life to support me and our boys, always putting everyone else first with no questions asked. He had a love of cooking, especially for others. A strong, fit man full of life who then suddenly had this taken away after being diagnosed with nasopharyngeal cancer to which he went through intensive and invasive radiotherapy and chemotherapy treatment. We were so overwhelmed with his fighting spirit, determination and mindset only to discover 6 months later the devastating news that he had secondary oesophagus cancer and a terminal prognosis. Once again Kevin fought and to the medical professionals amazement he not only survived the cancer and treatment but returned to construction work after building himself back up. One year later he developed Guillain-Barre syndrome which is an infection that attacks the muscle nerve endings leaving Kevin immobilized with a three year recovery. Eventually to help beat it Kevin would cycle a gruelling 20-50 miles to get back to good health bearing in mind that the whole time he was peg fed. He then tried to return to work. Unfortunately Kevin then developed pneumonia and was then admitted to hospital 17 times over a 16 month period with persistent chest infections. Sadly he then became immune to the antibiotics but bravely fought to make it home to spend his last few days with his loving family.

Kevin peacefully passed away on Sunday 20th May 2018

Having had to carry on working myself whilst being Kevin's full time carer, this became a struggle emotionally, physically and financially. Any savings we had worked so hard for gradually dwindled away over the last nine years whilst he courageously battled these illnesses.

I want to make sure we can give Kevin the send off he deserves.

    Thank you xXx
