Story
On Sunday 13th May I will be giving up my phone for the day and battling the elements in a muddy 10km adventure courses.
Each participant is asked to raise a minimum of £100 which will help continue the support for families at the Ronald McDonald House charity (RMHC) in Manchester so that families can stay close to their seriously ill children in hospital.
The Ronald McDonald House Manchester provides free 'home away from home' accommodation to families with children receiving treatment in the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital and St Mary's Neonatal Unit. Families travel to Manchester from across the North West, the UK and even internationally, so that their children can receive specialist treatment at The Royal Manchester Children's Hospital.
I have personally visited the house around this time last year and volunteered a day to give the house a deep clean with colleagues from my store. McDonald stores from around the North West send crew members and managers every few weeks so they the house doesn’t need to spend money for external cleaners.
While at the house we spoke to some families, it was around this time last year we saw the devastating news of the attack on the Manchester Arena and we discovered that some were families of children involved in the arena attack which makes this cause even more worthwhile.
I am asking for your support to help me reach my goal of £100 for this great cause. Any amount is greatly appreciated.
I think the biggest obstacle will be not being able to go on my phone! Which means I won’t be able to livestream or Snapchat this 10k like I did with the Wigan 10k haha.
Many Thanks for your support.
