Thank you to all that have helped us to hit our £1200 target !! With 2 weeks left to go we really want to smash this target so have increased it a little :)

We are Kara Clarke and Amy Brown and we were both diagnosed Type 1 diabetic 3 years ago when we were 12 years old. This condition turned our lives upside down and we were suddenly having to inject at least 4 times a day in order to stay alive. Thankfully we found Type-1-derful - a local support group for children with diabetes and their families. This group is an amazing support group who via the Facebook page offers advice to parents and also arrange days out and weekends away for the children! It is on a camp that we both met and have become the best of friends ! Until you are touched by this condition, you simply dont understand what a type 1 diabetic goes through - so for us to find this friendship through this group is so precious.

Type-1-derful relies solely on fundraising events in order to fund days out and events for the children of Neath, Port Talbot and Bridend hospitals to attend with their families so that they can get to know other children who are going through the same as them and for families to get together!

We turn 16 in July so as a big Thank You to this amazing group and to show that Type 1 diabetes wont stop us ,we will be doing a Sky Dive on the 4th of August in order to raise as much money as we can for the group!

Gareth Brown is also jumping with us to show his support as a parent of a Type 1 and also to help us raise as much as possible for this amazing group!
