Spectrum Club Dundee (Registered Charity SC32005)

Callander Charity Cycle Challenge 2018.

On 29th April I will be undertaking a 48 miles cycle from Callander to Killin and back through the spectacular scenery of the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park. It will be the first time I will have cycled this distance and I will be doing this to raise money in aid of the Spectrum Club, Dundee.

Spectrum is an out of school children’s club based in Dundee which provides after school care, a youth club and holiday playscheme for children with autism. The specially trained staff provide personal care where needed, and a place for children with autism to meet friends, to be themselves and develop social skills. The staff embrace the children's individual personalities with great warmth and understanding. For families of autistic children the club provide vital and much needed support and respite care, it provides a happy and safe environment where children can benefit from staff that are familiar with their need for structure and routine within play.

I have chosen to support Spectrum because I see how my friend Archie, the 9 year old son of one of my best friends, has grown and developed since attending the club. It is such an important part of his (and his family’s) life and yet Spectrum receives no statutory funding and relies totally upon grants and fundraising for its existence. The money you donate to my cycle challenge will help support the amazing work that this club does.
