Story
On 11th October I am doing a Sky Dive to raise funds for Daisy.
I have always admired strong people, but rarely do you find a family so united and strong together.
They find courage to go forwards and take one moment at a time. This is not all about Daisy, for me it's about the whole family and very close friends who support Daisy and the family as a whole.
Daisy is a brave young lady, she has to be, the positive attitude that she has, has given her sister Megan, Mum & Dad a family to be proud off.
Daisy's little puppy Max is now a new member of the family, but not just any old puppy, he is in training to be her Assistance Dog. Hopefully when he passes, he will be able to do small tasks for her, like getting her clothes, opening doors, and possibly eventually gaining an understanding and giving warning signs when Daisy becomes particularly ill.
"It's not what I have been through, that defines me, It's how I get through it."
Daisy is just 14 years old and suffers from a very rare and debilitating illnesses called Chronic Intestine Pseudo Obstruction (CIPs) and Ehler Danlos Syndrome (EDS)
You can read Daisy's full story, and more about her illness on her website here:
www.daisypalmertrust.co.uk
Daisy is unable to eat ANYTHING orally, and is instead entirely reliant on being fed intravenously for 24 hours everyday, via her heart.
In order to make Daisy's life more comfortable, many costly adaptations were needed to her house, including a Vertical Lift, Medical Preparation Room, and Medical and Equipment Storage Room. The entire house also needed to be made Wheelchair friendly. Alot of this is complete now, but unfortunately it still needs to paid for, as well as the continuous cost of lots of other medical equipment.
Aside from this, Daisy's problems will never go away. Fundraising will need to continue as she grows older and more things will inevitably be required to keep her well and comfortable.
Please take the time to look around the website. All donations to this page are gratefully received.
Thank you to Gemma, who bought the voucher for George my Son who has donated his voucher for me to jump, (all proceeds are going to Daisy Palmer Trust www.daisypalmertrust.co.uk ) and to Steve who will be watching and supporting me on the day.
Thank-you
Karen x
