Weʼve raised £22 to provide one year of education for 10 street children through the Root Foundation, Kigali
- Kigali, Rwanda

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
Root Foundation currently helps more than 40 street children to attend school every day. They are a small charity based in Batsinda, a poor neighbourhood of Kigali and without their help many would not be able to go school or complete their education. Find out more about the Root Foundation here.
Alan and I have been working alongside the volunteers for the past few months: some of you kindly gave us Lego at Christmas which the kids love playing with after school. No-one on the team has a wage and although we are working on some more sustainable ways of fundraising, for the time being all school expenses are through donations.
Some of the children are just starting primary school, others are doing O' or A' levels but all need uniform, school materials such as notebooks and pens, and other small expenses. These are all purchased in the market locally so your donation will also feed into the local economy.
Please give generously - every child has the right to an education.
