    Story

Crazily, I have decided to take part in The Fan Dance in January 2019. The Fan Dance is a gruelling 24km SAS Selection test march staged over Pen y Fan, the highest mountain in the Brecon Beacons. The infamous march is the world’s oldest Special Forces test & can be a real battle against the elements. There are steady slopes that allow a solid jogging pace, shocking inclines that have you almost on your hands and knees, loose stone tracks that require cautious foot placements, stream crossings and a forested off-road vehicle track that allows for some rapid going; all of this whilst carrying a minimum of 25lb + food & drink on your back as you must be self-sustained throughout the race.

I have decided to take on this challenge & raise money for Tattingstone Primary School as we look to upgrade our current technology. The staff were delighted when the school first got its interactive whiteboards but, with the pace at which technology moves on, we are now looking to upgrade them to keep up with technology.

The new boards would greatly improve the children’s' experience at school as the current ones can be tricky to see on bright days without shutting out the beautiful & much-needed sunlight. They can also be tricky to write on as the technology is getting older & parts are needing to be sourced & replaced which can take time.

We are looking to replace them with new LED screens that do not require projectors, are more cost effective, energy efficient & offer a better picture quality/clarity for the children.

Any donation is very much appreciated and will go towards improving school for our children.

    Many thanks,

    Kat Daines

First training run today where I carried the weight all of the way. Definitely enjoyed the lower elevation gain!
