Our niece, Mya, was born at 28 weeks with a Spinal Cord Injury, leaving her an Incomplete Tetraplegic which affects all 4 of her limbs. Her level of injury is C5-T1. She is currently unable to walk and uses a manual wheelchair for day to day use.

Mya undergoes intensive rehab at the National Spinal Injuries Centre at Stoke Mandeville Hospital and has done so for the past 3 years.

Mya is outgrowing her current wheelchair. Her parents have been advised that they need to raise £7,000 to fund the new wheelchair including extras, fittings and maintenance (new tyres, widening the wheelchair, new brakes and servicing).

Mya is an independent little girl, but without her wheelchair wouldn't be able to get around, play with friends or do many of her day to day activities.

As Mya has a very weak upper body she needs the lightest wheelchair possible to push herself around. Raising this money will get her the next size up. The wheelchair will last up to ten years.
