Batten disease is a fatal disorder of the nervous system that typically begins in childhood. Overtime affected children suffer cognitive impairment, worsening seizures and progressive loss of sight and motorskills. Each year there is approximatley between 15 & 30 children in the UK affected.

In 2016 a family close to us received the dreaded news that their little 4 year old girl was suffering with this dreaded disease. Two years on this little girl now needs 24hour care with her condition rapidly deteriorating.

With this disease being so rare in the UK I will be running 13.1 miles to raise money to help the family with hospice care and to make the life she has left as comfortable as possible.
