Story

A week tomorrow, Mrs Watts and I are taking part in Tough Mudder. We signed up to this, along with friends and family, with great intentions of training to best prepare for the gruling 10mile run with 20 obstacles. Unfortunately that has not happened. However we wanted to show a growth mindset and determination and model this for the children in our school. And, as many of you know, I don’t give up on anything!

For those of you that don’t know, St Columba has been on a transformational journey. In June we were graded as Good by OFSTED for the first time in the schools history! We have been awarded Centre of Excellence for Inclusion, we have been awarded a Young Carers award and we have Embraced Thrive to support children’s mental health and well being development. These achievements are testament to the hard work and dedication of the team. So in true St Columba Style we are dedicated to completing this challenge, and push ourselves outside our comfort zones!!!

To motivate us to get round we would love to raise as much money as possible to fund a project we want to start this academic year, raising our children’s cultural capital and giving them experiences during Primary School, that they wouldn’t expect to do or have the opportunity outside of school. As budgets are so very tight in schools, it would be great to have some funds to back this project so we can really make the most of it and give back to our amazing children and their families.

Anything you can support to raise our motivation, as well as give our children some amazing once in a life time experiences, would be greatly appreciated.

Just so you are aware of what we are putting ourselves through, here is a list of the obstacles

Thank you for your support!
