Story
Hi my name is Katie. I am a 3rd year nursing student at London South Bank University. As part of my studies, I'm in a lucky position to be able to be part of a unique nursing experience.
In JUNE 2017 I will be flying to Uganda to spend a month volunteering and working within Acute and Community Healthcare Settings, to deliver nursing care to sick children and their families.
I will also be delivering health education to young children and the communities to help improve their health and their future outcomes.
Not only will I be sharing my skills and gain experience through healthcare within the developing world, but this trip will also fund VITAL and LIFESAVING treatment for individuals in Uganda.
I feel this will be a very rewarding experience and help develop me as a person in preparation for becoming a newly qualified nurse. This would also enable me to experience nursing from a completely different angle and grow personally and professionally.
This placement has already been partially funded by my supportive parents, thank you so much mum and dad I really appreciate everything! But I do need to raise the rest of the money by February 2017.
I would really appreciate any donations - no matter how big or small!
Thank you in advance for your support, it will be so greatly appreciated.
Katie :)
