Weʼve raised £500 to Help pay Tuckers vet fee's

Funded on Saturday, 24th September 2016

Don't have time to donate right now?

    Story

Recently i had noticed that my 7 month old cocker spaniel wasn't putting on weight, after numerous visits to the vets and hundreds of pounds spent on test we are starting to get to the cause of the issue showing he has a liver problem and now have been referred to a specialist near Taunton we have received an appointment date of the 8th September 2016.

During the phone call with the specialist they mentioned that the price of the appointment is initially £250 plus investigatory work with a minimum price looking in the region of £1000, this price is excluding the cost of any treatment that will need to take place to correct his liver. Without the operation Tuckers life span would be considerably shortened with the risk of organ failure at any time after hearing the news i telephoned my insurance company to discuss getting a claim form to help me pay for his treatment.

The insurance firm were quick to tell me that they would not be able to cover Tuckers illness due to the fact his policy was only activated four days before i took him to the vet. The insurance was suppose to start soon after i collected him however delays occurred when the royal mail lost his registration papers meaning i couldn't register him straight away, unknown to me the insurance company do not cover anything that happens within the first 14 days meaning i am going to have to pay his entire bill which i cannot afford.

The only other option to stop him suffering would be to have him put down and this is not something i would even consider.

we would really appreciate anything you could spare to help Tucker get better and live a long and healthy life.

    Many thanks
    Katie & Tucker

Tucker is still on going treatment to find out what is wrong with the little chap. Specialist have ruled out a liver problem, kidney problems and diabetes and believed it to be a food allergy... Leving with special food and a half shaved dog I was happy to think I was finally getting somewhere. However that's not the case. A week down the line he has still been loosing weight and has been haveing reactions to the hypoallergenic food he has been given. More tests have been sent off but currently have a very confused vet and specialist team
