Weʼre raising £1,500 to Help with the financial strains and recovery of Breast Cancer

What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

Story

My sister Katrina Shaw has been diagnosed with grade 3 aggressive, invasive breast cancer that has already spread to her lymph nodes at just the tender age of 31, she is facing the biggest battle of her life and needs emotional and financial support to face this terrible disease and help aid with her recovery such as wigs, stockings, hats, scarfs, travel, and the special shampoos and creams she has been advised to purchase. Or if we can raise enough, then maybe a little to help purchase her some pick me ups along the way through the hard times.

The hospital are attacking it fast and she starts chemotherapy this week, she is going to have 7 rounds of chemo each lasting 3 weeks and then will be having surgery after to have her breast and lymph nodes removed.

Prior to being diagnosed Katrina served in the Army for a number of years as a dog handler, and her husband still serves. Katrina currently works in a Pharmacy part time, however understandably she will not be able to continue this whilst undergoing her treatment.

Katrina and her husband have 2 young children aged 5 and 3.

Just wanted to say a massive thank you to all of you for the support you have shown Katrina. I wanted to share with you a picture of Katrina showing off her ‘new brows’. My mum, dad, and sisters Kayleigh and Kimberley and myself put in together to get her eyebrows microbladed before her treatment starts as missing them was a massive concern for Katrina and once her chemotherapy starts, she couldnt have them done...needless to say I think she is chuffed with them
