In our area Burnham on sea and Highbridge there is a real problem with families having enough food to eat. since the change over to universal credit people are having to wait 6 to 8 weeks to get their money sorted, through no fault of their own they are left with nothing. Our local food bank does an amazing job, along side what they do we would love to give out food vouchers so families could get fresh fruit and meat at a local supermarket. This would mean so much, our community group are getting more and more people each day contacting us and asking for help, as we are voluntary workers with no funding this is extremely hard but we do what we can, we are happy to do fundraisers that will take time, but it would be amazing if we could have cash as soon as possible to help these families get some healthy food inside them. Hands Of Change Burnham and Surrounding area , are passionate about helping each other in our community. Please help us to help others who need our help. Every pound makes a difference if 300 people gave one pound each it would make a huge difference. Child poverty in the uk does exist and its a lot closer than you think .
