Story
Myself and a friend, Jane Roberts, a retired health visitor, are going to Fort Portal, Uganda for the month of November, to work in the Kyaninga Child Developement Centre and I will also be passing on midwifery skills to the local midwives at 4 outreach centres during our stay.
Our aim is to attempt to avert birth injuries, as much as possible, to both mother and baby, i.e. Oxygen deprivation, infection and also early identification of neonatal problem i.e.Talipes, so that appropriate action can be accessed/taken to enable the best life possible for that child in their home area. We understand we are a drop in the ocean but every drop counts to us, and the mothers and babies/children we may effect.
Thankyou for taking the time to read this and please consider sponsoring us.

7 years agoShopping for medical supplies to take on Thursday, getting so close now. Have to be careful with the weight, but also getting very close to being able to send freight as well when we return after discovering what their needs are, don't want to take useless stuff.
