Story
Being close friends/family to Jak, we are wanting to support him through the toughest time of his life.
We, Mark (his future brother-in-law) & Marc (his cousin), we’re not just family to Jak, we’re best mates and he is the third wheel on our Reliant Robin.
In August this year, Jak who is currently 22, was living life to his full potential. Coaching with local councils and communities in his spare time and progressing up the ladder towards potentially becoming a top football referee in years to come. Coming out of a support role within a school that specialises in autism, speech and language disorders, he moved in to a new role as a support teacher in a local secondary school. Jak has given a lot, so we want to give him something back.
Unfortunately, and this is the hard part, Jak was unable to complete his Level 4 refereeing fitness test due to collapsing. After weeks of tests, which we thought were routine, he and the people close to him were told the horrible news that he had been diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. However, with his family, friends and the Teenage Cancer Trust supporting him, he can beat this!!!
Along with this support, we thought we could help Jak out even more, by slightly filling the financial hole to help him not worry about the little stuff in life and concentrate on his battle. Having recently completed the purchase of his first home, we want to help Jak carry on and complete what he has set out to do with his new home.
While we are crowdfunding, members of his family and close friends will be doing activities to help Jak’s cause and hopefully cheer him up during this difficult time. Regular updates of the crazy things people will be doing will appear on this page, as well as Facebook. We want to encourage people to take up a challenge and help where they can.
Thanks for viewing this page!!

7 years agoThe crowd-funding page is ending shortly. We would like to take a moment to say thank you to everyone that has given to the campaign. When we started, we never imagined so much love would be shown. A Massive thanks to everyone that has taken part in events and raisers, truly gobsmacked by the response. Jak has just a few more Chemotherapy sessions remaining and I know this will help on his journey to a full recovery. In the meantime as promised to Jak, Mark will keep his head fully shaven and Marc will keep on growing his beard Thankyou
