    Story

The current global pandemic of which we are all collectively experiencing to varying degrees around the world has undoubtedly left many of us - from all walks of life - in an unprecedented situation.

For the past 4 years the skatepark located in Thamel, Kathmandu (Nepal) has served as the epicentre of the Nepali skate scene. With the completion of Kathmandu's first skatepark in November 2016, built by the good natured people at Make Life Skate Life, the skatepark attracted, encouraged and nurtured participation in the wheeled sports to the local Nepali youth.

This epicentre created a hub for the youth to form friendships and lasting connections rooted in a joy and passion for skateboarding and other creative outlets such as music, dance, art and other wheeled sports. The skatepark reached further a field than expected, attracting people from all over Nepal, from various ages and walks of life.

The skatepark encourages participation through skateboard workshops and local events. Over the past 4 years many call the skatepark home.

The skatepark and skate shop (Hamro Skateshop) in Kathmandu is run by Ujwol Dangol - of whom has been the backbone behind skateboarding in Kathmandu.

The skatepark however, currently sits on rented land. Due to the impact of Covid-19, Nepal was forced into lockdown for 6 months with many shops and public spaces being completely closed to the public with no support funding from the government. The skate park and skate shop included. The rent of the skatepark is largely funded by sales from Hamro skateshop and with the skate shop closed Ujwol is struggling to keep up with the rent.

The skate park is at risk from being repossessed if the rent is not met. The skate park is THE integral hub for the skate scene in not just Kathmandu but in Nepal as a whole. It would be detrimental for the Nepali skate community if this facility was to be taken away and repossessed.

We are fundraising with the intent to cover the full rental cost of KTM skatepark over Nepal's 6 month lockdown and subsequently help support the skate shop as Nepal slowly begins to open up.

We wholeheartedly welcome any donations no matter how big, 100% of our profits made from merchandise will also go directly into supporting the rent at KTM skatepark.
