Story
To "celebrate" our retirement, Ken and Mel are running the first Bedford Half Marathon on 2nd September 2017. Any money raised will be divided between two charities, Ideagen's charity of the year Action for Children and the local Friends of St John's Church Moggerhanger, which raises money to maintain this historic building.

7 years agoDone it! Mel completed in 2 hours 20 mins and I took 2 hours 42 minutes. Exhausted, but we feel good today, considering. Many thanks to all those who have supported us.

7 years agoMy Achilles tendon is much better now. We were both out running for over an hour on Saturday, a week before the race. We ran part of the course, so we are familiar with it. Just gentle 20-30 minute runs this week before race day. Parking in Bedford might be the biggest problem.

7 years agoMel did her longest run on Tuesday of 18k (12 miles) and is now winding down the mileage to save herself for the race. Her times are looking good. On the other hand, I have only just started running again after hurting my Achilles tendon a couple of weeks ago. The 2k I tried today was OK, so will try 4k on Saturday.
