I am taking on the Etape Loch Ness on the 29th April 2018 to raise funds.

This cycle journey is 66 miles ( 106 KM ) and starts and finishes in Inverness taking in a full circuit around Loch Ness, I am taking this on to raise funds for Wishaw General Neonatal Unit.

Wishaw General Neonatal Unit helps and cares for premature born babies , but it also helps and supports the parents at this critical and difficult time .Many parents will be in this unit everyday for most of the day until the babies are ready to be discharged and go home.

This may be a long and daunting process and although the staff and the unit are fantastic , the facilities within the unit for the parents is are not at the top of the list ( i.e. rest places , places to eat and drink and something to eat) , at the moment these are provided in the hospital canteen , but many parents dont want to be that far away from their youngster for any more time than necessary.

I am raising this money ,as myself and my wife were in this unit 3 years ago when our son Oliver Robb was born at 29 week ( 11 weeks premature weighting a tiny 1 LB 14 OZ ) and we spend everyday within this unit for 12 weeks before he got home .

All donations raised will go the Neonatal Unit so that they can provide a more comfortable area and facilities for the parents , many of them who will be there all day everyday for months .
