Weʼre raising £20,000 to Help fund professional dementia care of a former Coldstream guard.
Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
Please help this former Coldstream Guard with essential equipment and care as he suffers from dementia. I have set this page up to get him the help that he deserves as unfortunately he and his wife can't afford it..
This proud, independent Devonshire man is in his 90ies now and was recently diagnosed with dementia. Kenneth is severely affected by this cruel disease which robbed him of his memory, his personality and left him confused and disorientated. He suffers from delusions and hallucinations, difficulty communicating and most of the time not recognizing his wife or family. It is utterly heart breaking and the worst thing is that there is no known treatment to this day to slow or cure the disease, meaning that it will continue to get worse over time.
Kenneth requires urgent professional care and new equipment such as a new bed, walking frame and medication. His mobility has suffered due to several falls resulting in a broken hip and shoulder and your help will give him some comfort and independence he deserves.
Kenneth’s wife has become his full time carer and is struggling to cope with this cruel and debilitating disease. Caring for him at home is extremely challenging as his wife has to provide not only basic day to day assistance and care but also deal with emotional side of things of dementia. It takes huge amount of emotional and physical strength trying to change uncontrollable circumstances, trying to provide your best care to your loved one and see their condition deteriorating daily.
Sadly there is very little help from the NHS or other organisations to provide basic help or care and all funding comes directly from Kenneth’s pension which they can ill afford.
My aim is to raise £20 000 to provide Kenneth with essential equipment and professional care at home to improve the quality of his life. All donations will go directly to him. Let's help Kenneth!
We thank you in advance for your kind donations.
