Hi my name is Kerry and I went through IVF privately and fell pregnant 1st time but at 18+ weeks I suffered stomach cramps so attended my local GP which they stated stomach cramps could be growing pains and if they didn't get any better to go to maternity triage to get looked at.As the cramps didn't get any better that night the next day I went to the maternity triage where they done scan and heard my baby's heartbeat and done urine test which came back i had infection but displayed no symptoms.They then done internal examinations only to discover I was 4 1/2 cm dilated to which there was nothing they could do to stop my preterm labour.
I was in labour for a further 2 days and on the 19th December 2016 at 01.27 I gave birth to my beautiful baby boy Michael but unfortunately due to being only 4 months my son did not survive. The midwives were absolutely brilliant,they took our boy away to dress him and brought him back in a cold cuddlecot which maintains a cold temperature to preserve our boys body to give us extra time with him,without the cuddlecot we would have had to say our goodbyes within hours but due to having this amazing machine we got an extra 5 days to cherish those very much loved memories that we got with our boy and make some memories with photo's. So to donate would be great as the hospital don't have many of these cuddlecots and to give someone else the same chane we got to cherish those very much loved memories that we got with our boy and make some memories with photo's would be wonderful.Thanks for reading my story Kerry x
