As you may be aware Russ suffered a severe stroke to his left side in April 2017 and spent 14 weeks in Stepping Hill Hospital recovering as much as possible within the NHS acute stroke care unit. Since then he’s transferred to Fernlea Care Home on Torkington Road as a permanent resident as he was sadly unable to return to his own home.
I’m Kevan Furber, Russ’s twin brother, I’ve signed up to ride the Prudential Ride London event on the Sunday 29th July to try and raise funds to help Russ and Fernlea with events & day trips out for the residents. It’s going to be a bit of ‘slog’ -100 miles and 4,325ft of climbing, but not compared to the life changing events Russ has suffered, I want to try and help him and Fernlea as much as I can.

Prudential Ride London is a massive event with 25,000 riders taking part on closed roads, as in the 2012 Olympics, we’re all riding in groups or singles for our own nominated charities/good causes.
