Hello, my name is Kevin Byatt. I with my brother-in-law, Rick Mills will be travelling to Uganda in March. Our travel costs are being sponsored by a registered charity, "Hearts & Hands for Africa". They fully appreciate and encourage the good work being done.
We are going to help poor and vulnerable families, HIV victims, single parents, physically and mentally handicapped adults and children.
I know in the UK the NHS and our care system is always in the press. We have staff shortages and long waiting times. But our medical treatment when you receive it is absolutely first class. I myself have had major heart surgery at Southampton General Hospital and I have nothing but the utmost respect for the excellent treatment I received.
However, it's not the same story all over the world.
In Africa people, just like me and you are struggling. I know there are millions that need help, but surely, helping a few is better than doing nothing.
The money we raise will go directly to the people who need it most.
There are no "Admin or Management Costs". We will put Solar Powered Lighting in their homes, we will buy wheelchairs or prosthetic limbs to get people mobile, we will buy tools and sewing machines to give people work and an income so that they can support them selves.
