    Story

We have successfully secured £40k partial funding for the proposed skatepark extension and need to match this £40k from other sources. Hopefully, this crowdfunding idea will give this project a great push towards this target which has to be met by September 31st 2021.

Once the funds have been secured and the skatepark contractor has been awarded by a tender process, we will start a design consultation with all the users, and user types to gain an agreed design for all with compromises.

We would replace part of the unusable old rough tarmac surfaces for rideable smooth concrete with ramps and elements. Fresh up the design and layout of this early concrete pre-fabricated skatepark to meet current-day skatepark designs and construction methods and materials.

Expand the existing Keyworth skatepark rideable area to accommodate the increase in potential user groups from the expansion of the village and surrounding villages with new housing developments.

Encourage people of all ages, sexes, and abilities to be active and have fun in the local community. with this free skatepark.

This is a safe environment to ride and relax with friends or in your own space, with a level access point for all users.

Users can enjoy the free space on scooters, rollerskates, inline skates, bikes, BMX bikes, skateboards, wheelchairs, for example. The skatepark is set in a lush green mature natural environment. The wild vegetation and grassed area will be retained to be enjoyed for rest and relaxation for users, parents, spectators.

The Rushcliffe Borough Council has kindly carried forward a £40k bid allocation towards the Keyworth Skatepark redevelopment project. The allocation is based upon the parish council receiving confirmation of 50% match funding on or before 30thof September 2021. The capital works will need to be completed and invoices processed by 31st March 2022.

We will be applying for other match funding grants, in this short timeframe, however, any additional funds from kind donations will be most appreciated and useful. Hopefully, we can receive some amazing and generous donations through crowdfunding to secure this great opportunity sooner.

The area to be replaced and extended into a rideable concrete surface is as shown in the site photographs below.

If for any reason the overall match funding is not met or the project is canceled Just giving Crowdfunding team will organize a refund for all the donors directly to the accounts used for payment. This process would take 5-10 days for the refunds to reach the donors' accounts.
