Yemen the forgotten land,

Was once a country I remember to be beautiful and full of life, from it's scenery to it's people. A country I spent a considerable amount of years in. A country I can call home, because of how it has engulfed me and taught me the love of always being in the service of others.

This Ramadan, when we comfortably break our fasts in the comfort of our homes with Medjool or Ajwaa dates, and water to quench our thirsts, surrounded by the familiar faces of our families. I'd like you to ponder and contemplate for a second that what if Allah took that blessing away from you or your family?. What if you knew someone who was suffering be it in Yemen or Syria or anywhere else. It is within our own capacity to help with whatever we are able to not just spiritually but also physically, by donating as little or as much as you can to help support and elevate the pain, hunger, and torment that our brothers and sisters are currently living in.

The Prophet [Peace and Blessings of Allaah be upon him] said, “Giving in charity doesn’t decrease you wealth in the slightest, and the person who pardons is not increase except in honour and there is no person who is humble for the sake of Allaah, except that Allaah will raise his rank.” [Narrated by Muslim 2588]
