    Story

The Kharkiv School of Architecture needs your support. Determined to stay in Ukraine throughout the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the architecture school has relocated 1,000km across the country from Kharkiv to Lviv.

The Kharkiv School of Architecture is working to establish new premises and teaching infrastructure and is seeking support for its tutors and students to empower them to address the challenges of war and reconstruction concerns.

Architecture Today magazine is facilitating this fundraising campaign, with all funding going directly to the Kharkiv School of Architecture. Funds raised will be used for school administration costs, materials and tuition fees, as well as dormitory set-up for staff and students.

Architecture Today hosted a webinar with the Kharkiv School of Architecture on Thursday 21 April.

Watch a recording of the webinar to find out how the UK and international architectural community can provide practical and pedagogical support to enable the school to educate Ukraine’s future architects and engineers and equip them with the knowledge and expertise to face the complex challenges of rebuilding their country.

Oleg Drozdov, founder of the architectural bureau Drozdov & Partners and co-founder of the Kharkiv School of Architecture, Robert Mull, Professor of Architecture and Design at the University of Brighton, Iryna Matsevko, Deputy Vice Chancellor of the Kharkiv School of Architecture outlined the work that is being done to safeguard and nurture Ukraine’s talent and its plans to become a leader in modern methods of construction, environmentally-friendly architecture and socially-progressive, sustainable urbanism.

Elionora Lushchyk, a student at the school, shared first hand experience of studying at the school and touch on the impact and school’s response to recent events.

    Watch the webinar.
