Story
Kidneys are affected by many diseases and failure of their function leads to more deaths than is generally known. After malignancy and heart disease, kidney diseases are the third largest killer of mankind. Thousands of people in Nepal go into terminal kidney failure every year. Millions more suffer lesser forms of kidney diseases.
I have a very personal reason to support this cause as I have seen my very own family members live through the pain of kidney problem and would like to do whatever is reasonably possible to minimize similar pain to others, especially deprived young people in Nepal, who are economically unable to cure and educationally unaware how to prevent. Nepal Kidney Foundation is a non-profit organization in Nepal dedicated to the awareness, prevention and treatment of kidney disease for hundreds of healthcare professionals, thousands of patients and their families, many at risk.
I am running a 21km Hackney Marathon this May 2018 with the hope to raise some funds with your generosity which I will donate to Nepal Kidney Foundation to use towards kidney awareness program for deprived youths in Nepal. Your donation is very important and without your help this is not possible. Thank you for taking time to read my story.
