Story

Next February (2017) I will be competing in the Yukon Arctic Ultra to raise money to buy equipment to enable individuals with learning / cognitive difficulties to lead a healthy lifestyle such as oil-free grills and other kitchen appliances.

The race distance is 300 miles that has to be completed in 8 days at temperatures that can reach -50 C. For more details - http://www.arcticultra.de/en/

Barry’s learning disabilities & cognitive impairment meant he was unable to understand slimming plans. Barry’s Journey was developed to benefit people similar to Barry enabling them to get the support & help they need on their own journey to healthy eating & exercise thus reducing medical complications associated with obesity & lack of exercise.

Just broke in my spare pair of walking boots. Fingers crossed, no blisters whilst training. Training going well, on schedule. Cant wait to get started in Canada.

All the kit needed for the race has either arrived or in the post. Training is also going to plan - shame no snow!
