The staff and young people of Kilmarnock School are raising money for women's aid. Women's aid is an extraordinary charity that supports women and young people in crisis situations as a result of domestic violence. Women's aid provides numerous supports for women and children, such as emotional support and guidance, as well as safe housing where they can escape the turbulence of their home environment. Without women's aid, many women and children would be in extremely dangerous situations. Whilst it is a critical charity, they receive little funds and often rely on the support of donations. We want to support the amazing people who support these women and children by raising funds for them. To raise money, we (the staff and YP of Common Thread Care and Education) will be climbing Ben Lomond on 21st June 2018. Ben Lomond is one of Scotland's Munro's and has an altitude of 974 metres and spans 7 miles! We look forward to facing this challenge for a good cause.
