    Story

Firstly, let me thank you for taking the time to read this appeal.

On Thursday 8th Nov 2018, my father in law Ian Wells was broken into and had his son's motorbike stolen by callous thieves. Nothing could have prepared the family for the events that followed.

Upon noticing the bike was stolen, they checked their CCTV, saw the direction the thieves had taken off in and went out to look for it. After a short time and no luck in finding anything his son was returning to his home when he saw his dad laid on the ground unconscious, attempts at CPR were unsuccessful and although there was an extremely quick response from the Air Ambulance crew, Ian was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Ian was a self employed electrician and was the breadwinner for the family. He took great pride in providing help and support not only for his family, but for anyone who knew him.

Being the hardworking person he was, he never went without work and although the insurances he had covered him for accidents etc. tragically, the insurance company has deemed his policy null and void due to the circumstances that resulted in his untimely death. This now leaves a large outstanding mortgage and extra financial pressure for the family.

So, not only have the thieves taken (later found to be burnt out) his son's bike, the stress of these actions has resulted in devastation that this family will never recover from. To make things worse, this will ultimately cost them their home along with the added pressure of paying for Ian's funeral. All this whilst still trying to come to terms with what has happened.

After knowing Ian for many years as a supportive father and friend, I know that he would want me to do anything possible to ensure the family is looked after and supported in the best possible way. Unfortunately I do not have the personal funds to pay off the mortgage or pay for the funeral, however, I do have the power to reach out to people to help support my loved ones in their time of need and It is because of all this that I have decided to try and raise some money to give them one less thing to worry about.

    Thank you

    Kirk X
