In June this year, a group of pupils from Strathaven Academy and I will being going on a volunteering trip to the Volta region of Ghana, to help at one of the schools. The school is located in a very poor area and provides vital food and education to children living in extreme poverty who otherwise would not have the opportunity to go to school. On our visit we will be helping to teach the children due to under-staffing and also helping to build, maintain and paint the school. In order to help raise some of the money I am going to be doing a 50 mile sponsored cycle around the Strathaven area, I am not the strongest cyclist and there are lots of massive hills around, so this is a very big challenge for me. I would greatly any donation you can make as this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to give something back to those much less fortunate than myself.
