    Story

My Daughter and her Partners 16 month old baby boy Fusilli was hit by a car today on the A52 near Spondon. A member of the public luckily found him and took him straight to the vets. He's microchipped so the vet contacted my Daughter. Fusilli has obvious visable external injuries but the vet also feels sure he's broken his pelvis as he can't walk and is dragging himself around, he is being xrayed and scanned in the morning. He's currently on high doses of pain relief and antibiotics as well as an iv drip. The cost so far for this alone is £800-£1000, this is without any treatment for the internal injuries which could cost £3000+. Unfortunately he is not yet insured and my daughter has just started back at uni doing her teacher training degree so money is tight. I will help them with as much as I can but I've also set this page up to ask if anyone would be willing to help cover some of the costs for Fusillis treatment and care. Anything at all would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Thank you so much to everyone that's donated. Fusilli is doing well. It's a long road and he's not making it easy. He had his stitches removed today but has an infection in the bottom of the wound that the vet saw when he was removing the stitches, so antibiotics for a week. Buy he is starting to weight gain more so things are looking up. Thank you again to everyone xx

THE BOY IS HOME After a very lengthy and complex surgery yesterday Fusilli is now home to heal and rest. He'll spend the next 6 wks in his crate but should make a full recovery. He's on lots of meds and not eating at the mo but has been given appetite enhancing meds so hopefully he'll eat soon. In true Fusilli style rather than lie in his new comfy bed he has chosen to lie in cat litter! Thank you for everyone's support so far. His vets bill currently stands at just over £5000 so thank you for all your donations it will make a big difference

Update 7/9/21 Fusilli is due in theatre at 2.30, the surgery is very complex and involves plates, screws and pins to attach his pelvic bones in place. The vet has said he should make at least a 90% recovery although may walk with a slight limp although he will shave the right side of his pelvis to make this less so. Once he is well enough to come home he will be in a crate for 6 weeks on full rest to allow his bones time to fuse back together. Thank you so much for everyone's support so far. The kindness of strangers is overwhelming. Xx
