I'm doing a Bungee Jump off 'Storms River Bridge' located on South Africa's Garden Route, the highest bungee jump in the world to raise funds and awareness to help support my 11 year old nephew who has a co morbid diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (Asperger's Syndrome), Tourette's Syndrome, ADHD, OCD and crippling anxiety disorders. As a result of this, his mental health needs are extremely complex.

I have watched him grow, struggle and deteriorate over the years due to lack of services and funding.
I believe that if he receives the input that he desperately needs now, he could grow into an independent adult and will hopefully prevent him from requiring a residential placement. He often says that he will commit suicide if he had to live away from his mother.

His psychiatrists Camhs has been extremely supportive. Combinations of medication have not had much effect, so she referred him to a leading specialist in this field. The commissioner refused to fund it as this specialist offers a whole care package costing £16,000. My goal is to raise as much as possible to go towards the cost of this package.

My nephew suffers with meltdowns due to extreme anxieties. During an episode he is out of control and is physically and verbally abusive. After a meltdown he is remorseful guilty and ashamed. This has lead him to self harm. There are no out of hours intervention services for children and Adolescents.

Despite his difficulties, my nephew is extremely academic and is gifted and talented in Technology. He has self taught since the age of 2 and has a special interest in computer programming and coding, as well as electronics. His ultimate aspiration is to attend Imperial College University London with a view to becoming a CEO of his own company that will specialise in computing and electronics.
