In keeping with the spirit of generosity that characterises Diwali we take this opportunity to raise funds for our India charity partner - Increasing Diversity by Increasing Access (to Legal Education) ("IDIA"). IDIA seeks to level the playing field and promote social mobility by providing financial, mentoring, educational and practical support to students from underprivileged and marginalised communities in India to help them overcome structural hurdles in accessing a premier legal education at India's top law schools.

In 2018, Herbert Smith Freehills under its partnership with IDIA pledged to financially support and mentor 5 IDIA scholars who have been accepted into leading Indian law schools - read more here

Through its extensive network of student volunteers and legal professionals, IDIA selects and prepares deserving students to write the national law entrance exam, and once admitted, offers them financial and mentoring support to successfully attend and complete their law degree.
